DOM BOUCHER : SOUND ENGINEER
Biography
A gold level graduate of the Musician's Institute,
London - (sister school to the world renowned
Musician's Institute, Hollywood), as well as holder of
two Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
Grade 8 Qualifications, Dom later graduated from the
highly regarded School of Music at the University of
East Anglia, before moving on to advise on the
installation of a specialist radio and sound recording
facility, funded by the RNIB, where he held a lecturing
post in Sound Engineering and Music Performance.
Dom shifted focus to the specialist area of voice
recording as an engineer for Advitel, working on
thousands of on-hold and IVR system prompts for
major telecoms companies, converting them into
every conceivable file type, and learning the black art
of making low-resolution files clearly intelligible.
Now, as a staff engineer of five years at The Sound
Company, London, Dom works on a massively
diverse range of projects from long-form
documentary and corporate video narration to sound
designing and mixing BBC television trailers;
recording, editing and mixing podcasts to recording
dialogue for a BAFTA winning animation series; from
booth ADR for TV drama to recording as-live
commentary for Santa Pod race-days; from
recording, editing, sound designing and mixing TV &
Radio Ads for high profile national campaigns, to full
and additional dialogue recording for several major
animated feature films.
